Based on the definition of physical chemistry, a melting point of a matter refers to the temperature at which the matter changes from solid state to liquid state. In the field of organic chemistry, melting point determination is an essential means to identify the nature of the matter, in addition to an important method for purity determination. Thereby the melting point apparatus plays a significant role in the chemical industry and pharmaceutical research, and is also a necessary instrument for production of medicine, perfume, dye and other organic crystals. The WRS-1C melting point apparatus adopts the technologies such as automatic photoelectric detection, graphic lattice LCD, touch screen keys and so on, and has the functions like automatic recording of the melting curve, automatic display of incipient melting and final melting and so on. The accuracy platinum resistor is used as the temperature measuring element in the temperature control system. The digital PID and PWM technologies are used to improve the accuracy and reliability of melting pint measuring. Furthermore, the instrument also has functions of automatic saving of operating parameters and measured results. Communication with the PC can be performed through the USB port or the RS232 port. Moreover, the instrument adopts the capillary specified by the pharmacopeia as a sample tube.
